1st SCIC NBA Power Rankings

AUTHOR: | IN: NBA | COMMENTS: None Yet

I promised them, here you go. Here is the 1st installment of the Sir Charles In Charge Power Rankings. For this one, I will simply order the teams from 1-30 with no explanation. I will explain some of my rankings on this week podcast, this Saturday. To me, the record is one of the things that doesn’t matter as much as people think.  For these rankings, I use the way the team has played and also the potential of the teams in the upcoming weeks. For some teams ( New York, Indiana) the upside to rise is higher then some [...]

The NCAA 2010-2011 season is underway! Currently, some of the top schools in the nation ( Duke, Kansas State, Pittsburgh, Kentucky, etc) are playing in some tournaments in places like New York City and Puerto Rico. With some of the college season tournaments beginning, I thought we give a update as to some players who  have caught the attention of SCIC and who should be moving up the draft boards and for some, into the player rankings. From the players who started off well, to the players who have issues and stumbled out of the gate, let’s go to the [...]

NBA Rookie Rankings- Verison 1

AUTHOR: | IN: NBA | COMMENTS: None Yet

Every season, we have the NBA draft and look for the rookies. Which rookie is going to be a impact player right away? Who’s going to be catching the pine?  Instead of making a rookie ranking right away, I decided to give it a couple weeks to see what playing time the rookies were given. Now that we have a small sample size, here are the 10 best rookies so far. 10. Ishmael Smith ( Guard, Houston Rockets : 5.1 ppg, 3.1 apg) Remember him? With Aaron Brooks missing 4-6 weeks and Kyle Lowry missing time ( he’s return since [...]

Winds Of Change: Who Could Be Traded This Season?

AUTHOR: | IN: NBA | COMMENTS: None Yet

Every season, players get their names thrown around in trade talks. If you didn’t know, a potential Jason Thompson for Jeff Teague deal was shot down by Atlanta. With the NBA season only 10 games down, we have tons of names already being thrown around. SCIC has decided: Let’s break them down by position and who are the main players at each position who’s name will be in trade talks. Point Guards There’s not too many point guards out there up for a potential trade. The team who’s looking most for point guard help? the Miami Heat. The Heat will [...]

Ricky Rubio: Where Do We Go Now?

AUTHOR: | IN: NBA | COMMENTS: None Yet

2009 NBA Draft, 18 year old Ricky Rubio was drafted 5th by the Minnesota Timberwolves.  Most draft experts believed Rubio would never play a game for the Timberwolves: Well, they’re on the clock to see if they were correct. As reported in my “Early Morning Free Throws” post, the Knicks made a attempt to acquire Ricky Rubio, forcing the Minnesota front office to state: Ricky Rubio will begin his career in Minnesota, not New York. With this news coming out, I instantly thought two things: Oh great, the Knicks aren’t getting another good player and Where does Rubio fit as [...]
