Babbling Brook: The Detroit Pistons

AUTHOR: | IN: NBA | COMMENTS: None Yet

Singer Imogen Heap said it best in her hit song “Hide and Seek” “Where are we? What the hell is going on?” I think that sums up the Detroit Pistons the past 3 years in a nutshell.  One must wonder: What’s going on with the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons sit at 10-20 right now, struggling in the east without any hope. 7th overall pick, Greg Monroe? Played only 521 minutes all season. If you would have told me the Knicks would be 18-14 going into 2011, I would have been shocked.  The Knicks have been a plesant surprise to me so far. Going into the season, I expected Felton and Stoudemire to be solid for New York but not this good. Stoudemire has taken Gotham by storm. Why? Ego and mental makeup. In Phoenix, Stoudemire always thought he was better then he actually was. In New York, he was given the keys and ran with them.

The Perception Of A Player

AUTHOR: | IN: NBA | COMMENTS: None Yet

NBA fans, bloggers and experts argue all the time about things. One of the main things is the benefit of the doubt on big name players. For example, when Orlando made the deal bringing Gilbert Arenas, Jason Richardson, Earl Clark and Hedo Turkoglu back to Orlando, there was simple chatter. The main chatter was surrounding Jason Richardson being the key piece coming back to Orlando, but what was a side note? Hedo Turkoglu. Everyone believed that, even though Turkoglu struggled in Toronto and Phoenix, Turkoglu could be a underrated piece coming back in this deal. Why was Hedo a solid [...]
