NBA Rumors: June 24 News and Notes

Another busy day in the world of the NBA. Here are the news and notes on the rumor front from Monday, June 24…

Marcin Gortat to the Portland Trailblazers? 

According to Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic, the Blazers are interested in adding a proven big man. Gortat fits that role.


Luol Deng to the Washington Wizards?

Stein reports “ most likely trade construction, if talks were to progress to the serious stage, would send Deng to the Wizards for the No. 3 pick and center Emeka Okafor, who would have to formally opt into his contract for next season ($14.5 million) this week for the trade to go through.”


Eric Bledsoe to the Magic?

According to Mark Heisler of Sports City, “Eric Bledsoe and Caron Butler are expected to be packaged in a draft-day trade for Orlando’s Arron Aflallo, addressing the Clipper need for a shooting guard.”


Doc gone, Paul Pierce next? 

According to Baxter Holmes of the Boston Globe, the Cleveland Cavaliers have help preliminary talks with the Celtics regarding the 10-time All-Star.


If the Cleveland Cavs go on to screw the No. 1 pick up, the Magic will be waiting to pick up the pieces. 

Per sources, ESPN’s Chad Ford says “that if the Cavs pass on Kentucky big man Nerlens Noel, the Magic are leaning strongly toward selecting him with the No. 2 pick in the draft.
