Three summers ago, the Cleveland Cavs were waiting on LeBron James to make a decision. Now it’s the Cavs turn, and they’re beginning to realize that it’s not as easy as it seems.
For the past week, Cleveland has been dangling that No. 1 pick, hoping a team would eat it up like a hot pie. It hasn’t happened. Now the Cavs are struggling to decide who to pick with it — Alex Len or Nerlens Noel.
The latest turn in this tale is that the Cavs are leaning towards take Len.
Getting strong signals in Cleveland that the Cavs have placed Alex Len at the top of their board & will draft him 1st. #NBAdraft

The Cavaliers are "leaning" towards drafting Alex Len with the #1 overall pick tomorrow night. (CBSSports)

Noel (ACL) isn’t expected to be ready by the time the start of the NBA Season comes around, and may be out until December. Len (stress fracture) is expected to miss partial time during training camp, but should be ready to go by the time regular season comes around.
I don’t think the Cavs are really going to pull this trigger and draft Len. I think this is the smoke and noise that comes out the day before the draft. I’d be surprised if the Cleveland passes on Noel.
Then again, it is Cleveland.
