There have been a lot of rumors so instead of putting them in our daily free agent post, we thought we’d collect them here.
Mavs, Clippers Talking Mayo, Bledsoe
As reported earlier, the Clippers have shown a lot of interest in O.J. Mayo, who spent last season with the Dallas Mavericks. However, they’d have to make a deal through a sign-and-trade, which may become a possibility.
According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, the Clippers and Mavericks are discussing a deal that would send Bledsoe to Dallas in exchange for a signed O.J. Mayo.
Redick for Bledsoe?
Ramona Shelburne of ESPN Los Angeles is reporting that she’s “hearing rumblings that the Clippers and Bucks are discussing a deal involving JJ Redick and Eric Bledsoe”.
The trade would be beneficial to both players. It would allow Bledsoe to get an extended role, which he’s always waned, plus it will give Redick a contributing role on a contending team.
Magic Still In On Bledsoe
The Orlando Magic have been connected to Los Angeles Clippers point guard Arron Afflalo since the pre-draft camp in Chicago. The rumored deal would sent Magic guard Arron Afflalo (and possibly a pick or rookie power forward Andrew Nicholson) to Los Angeles in exchange for Bledsoe and swingman Caron Butler, who has an expiring contract.
After Thursday night’s draft, Magic general manager Rob Hennigan didn’t think the trade was “standing” and it may be “kneeling.”
However, Ken Berger of CBS Sports reported the teams were still discussing the deal and added he thinks “LA wants to see OJ Mayo/Tony Allen pursuit through first.”
