Victor Oladipo Didn't Want Cleveland + Gasol's New Look

Orlando Magic No. 2 overall draft pick Victor Oladipo met with a group with Magic season ticket holders Thursday night, when he said the following…

“I really didn’t want to go to Cleveland.”

Obviously, he was talking about his situation before the 2013 NBA draft — the Cleveland Cavaliers had the No. 1 overall pick and elected to go with Anthony Bennett.

Oldapido would later address his remark on his Twitter feed:

I’m not sure why he felt the need to apologize to the Cavs fans, because, well, who actually wants to go to Cleveland? Okay, that’s mean-spirited, but if there was any doubt that Cleveland isn’t an attracting city, it’s pretty much cemented here.

It’s difficult for Cleveland to attract free agents, now apparently, it’s difficult for them to attract draftees. Of course, as always, take Oladipo’s comment with a grain of salt. I’m sure there was nothing personal here.

NEW SEASON, NEW FACE?

When the Los Angeles Lakers take the court at some point this training camp, there’s going to be a new face. Not a new player, but just a new face. That would be the face of one, Pau Gasol.

The two Gasol’s (Pau and Marc) share a charity called the Gasol Foundation. They had some sort of “healthy competition” with a group of children, the loser had to shave their beard.

Obviously, that happened to be Pau. Here is the evidence…

This is the first time Pau shaved his beard in nine years.

“Anyone know that guy in the Gasol jersey?”
