Nerlens Noel isn’t expected to play this NBA season until around December, at least those are what the original reports indicated.
However, as the rookie center of the Philadelphia 76ers continues to rehabilitate his torn ACL, he is growing confident with every day that passes.
Noel told NBA.com’s Jeff Caplan: “I feel great. I’m really starting to feel like my old self, being able to have my explosiveness. But I’m definitely being careful with it. From Day 1, every time I was in rehab, the last few reps, I would just think how bad I want to get on the court because of how much I want to prove to myself that I can get back and be the player I want to be.”
“I want to be 100 percent confident not only physically, but mentally coming back from it,” Noel said.
Noel was supposed to be the No.1 overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft, however, due to fear that he wouldn’t be the same player after recovering from his injury, he fell to sixth. Noel is committed to prove those other five teams wrong, and that would mean regaining his inhumane athleticism that he once showed at Kentucky.
Even though Noel says he feels great and is starting to feel like his old self, I still don’t expect him to play in an actual NBA game until December.
The date that everyone has been throwing around is Christmas. I’m taking the under.
