Staring into the abyss, you wonder what’s next. What tomorrow will bring. What next week will bring, but never what next year will bring. Who has time to think about next year when there’s so much left to do in the present.
Oh yea, Sixers fans.
That is not a dis; it’s not a joke. It’s reality. Sadly.
I poke fun at some team’s fans for saying they’re practicing false hope, but Sixers fans don’t even have that.
To Sixers games this year, they won’t be giving away Michael Carter-Williams’ bobble heads. Not even free Nerlens Noel flat tops, no. They’ll be giving out free tank tops…
The season hasn’t even started and, for Sixers fans, it’s already over.
Nerlens Noel already threw in the towel.
Sixers fans are already ordering custom Andrew Wiggins jerseys.
In serious news, Sixers coach Brett Brown stated that his opening night starting lineup is set.

There are only two definites about the 76ers’ roster.
The first thing is that Michael Carter-Williams, James Anderson, Evan Turner, Thad Young and Spencer Hawes are the clear starters. The second thing is that power forward/center Lavoy Allen is an experienced NBA talent that’s finding his way back into shape.
“And after that, who knows?” Sixers coach Brett Brown said before Monday’s 104-93 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers at Schottenstein Center.
“You have six NBA players and then you have a bunch of guys who are fighting for spots and want to be seen and need opportunity,” Brown added.
Honestly though, the Sixers have kind of embraced this whole tanking thing. It’s going to be pretty interesting to see what kind of pick they end up with – mostly to see if it works.
I would like to hear from Sixers fans this season: their expectations, their (the fans) approach and the grind of being loyal to a team that basically already threw in the towel. It’s quite compelling.
Here’s to a new season, new hope and to a happy TANKING!
