NBA ‘Lights: Aggressive Gasol, THJR Rises, Westbrook Returns + Oladipo Needs To Be In The Dunk Contest

Sunday. Usually a football day, but the NBA still lurks. It never ceases. Especially when it’s well under way. Day 7. Let’s go…hit the lights.

First, we take a stop in Atlanta where the Los Angeles Lakers topped the Hawks 105-103. The highlight of the night was Pau Gasol’s aggressive drive to the rim, dunking over two Hawks:

At the Garden, the New York Knicks pretty much stunk it up for much of the night, losing to the Minnesota Timberwolves 109-100, but Tim Hardaway Jr. threw down an insane dunk off an alley from Raymond Felton. Oh, by the way, it was over Ricky Rubio…

By the way, Kevin Love had another day in the office — he finished with 34 points, 15 rebounds and five assists. Also, this:

Russell Westbrook surprised everyone and made his season debut last night against the Phoenix Suns. Westbrook finished with 21 points and seven assists in the Thunders 103-96 victory on Sunday night. He also had this sweet helper to Kevin Durant:

The dunk of the night has to go to the rookie in Orlando though. Victor Oladipo put on a show in the second half, en route to his 19 points (on 8-for-13 shooting), six rebounds, four assists, two steals and seven turnovers in 21 minutes off the bench. But here was his 360-dunk that is making the rounds this morning:

This was the Dunk of the Night 1B:
