ESPN is reporting that the Boston Celtics would be willing to take on Amar’e Stoudemire’s contract in a trade from New York, if they could somehow dump some of their bigger contracts in return.
While C's not moving Rondo, they would take back Amare in deal n which they could unload longer deals of Gerald Wallace &/or Courtney Lee

PANIC TRADE TIME?
That’s what this essentially would be. The good part is that the Knicks could finally get Stoudemire off their books, but Gerald Wallace and Courtney Lee’s contracts – which are guaranteed until 2016 – could put the Knicks in a bind during any upcoming free agency periods. Especially since New York has been adamant about adding another star via free agency to play alongside Carmelo Anthony.
Wallace and Lee could really help the Knicks immediatley. Wallace could help shore up a struggling fronline, without Tyson Chandler, and the Knicks could start Lee at the two and still trade Shumpert if they wished. Though, he may be part of that trade, hypothetically.
If nothing else, it’s interesting to see that the Knicks and Celtics are at least exploring ideas.
I’m not sure if this says more about how desperate the Knicks are, or about how badly they want out of Stoudemire’s contract. Either way, it’s interesting.
Stoudemire’s been struggling for a while in New York. Maybe it’s time for a change of scenery. Or maybe it’s just time for him to hang up his kicks and call it a career. Sad.
