OK, Amar’e. Ok.
Amar’e Stoudemire took to Twitter on Tuesday afternoon to address the “rumor” that he was “injured”.
Ealier today, New York Knicks head coach Mike Woodson announced that Stoudemire would not play tomorrow against the Milwaukee Bucks and that he could be “out a while”.
“Amar’e’s going to be out a while,” Woodson said after practice. “I don’t know, but he won’t play tomorrow. Kenyon’s out as well. Hopefully Tyson feels good after tonight, will be able to get back in a uniform. For us to get out of this hole it’s going to take a total team effort, and hopefully we’ll eventually get everybody back.”
When asked why Stoudemire will be sidelined, Woodson said, “knee has swelled up a little bit.”
Stoudemire has undergone three surgical procedures on his knees in the span of 12 months — the last one coming this past offseason.
There have already been numerous theories to why the Woodson decided to make this a story today, if in fact Stoudemire isn’t “injured” like he tweeted.
I tend to agree with Frank Isola, with this one…
Either that, or maybe Stoudemire really is hurt.
