Every week, we will be discussing the game of the week – a game not worth missing.

You won’t be seeing the Los Angeles Lakers in the game of the week section for another six weeks, but there will still be some very intriguing games coming up.

GAME OF THE WEEK

Miami Heat at Portland Trail Blazers – Saturday, December 28, 10 p.m.

The Blazers are going to face a huge test with the defending champs coming into Portland. So far, the Blazers have had big wins against the majority of the elite teams in the league. Can they keep it going against the champs? The Heat is coming off an emotional win against the Indiana Pacers last week.

Notable games:

Los Angeles Clippers at Golden State Warriors – Wednesday, December 25, 10:30 p.m.

Due to injuries, this will be the most exciting game on the NBA schedule for Christmas Day. The NBA really needs to do a better job of creating a more entertaining schedule for Christmas, or just give the teams a day off.

Los Angeles Clippers at Portland Trail Blazers – Thursday, December 26, 10:30 p.m.

Chris Paul versus Damian Lillard is all you need to know. This is going to be a fun game. Just keep your eyes on the two point guards.

Houston Rockets at Oklahoma City Thunder – Sunday, December 29, 7 p.m.

The Rockets have been dealing with some injuries lately, but this is no time worry about that. The Thunder is looking like a championship team in the early going. How will they deal with Dwight Howard?
