Every week, we will be discussing the game of the week – a game not worth missing.

For the most part, the Christmas games last week were a bore. There aren’t many marquee matchups this upcoming week, but there are a few you can’t miss.

GAME OF THE WEEK

Portland Trail Blazers at Oklahoma City Thunder – Tuesday, December 31, 8 p.m.

The Blazers took a tough loss last week to a LeBron James-less Miami Heat team at home. They have a tough game against the Russell Westbrook-less Thunder. The Thunder has looked unbeatable at home, having won 14 and losing one. Some still doubt the Blazers are a true contender. This game will be another big test for this young team.

Notable games:

Golden State Warriors at Miami Heat – Thursday, January 2, 7:30 p.m.

If everyone plays in this game, it should be an exciting one. The Warriors have had some bad losses this year. A win against the Heat in Miami could put them back on track. They can be dominant at times, but look like a junior varsity team the other times. The Heat will play hard whether it plays all its players or not.

Los Angeles Clippers at San Antonio Spurs – Saturday, January 4, 8:30 p.m.

Clippers are one of the most aggressive teams in the league. Some type of altercation always seems to occur when watching one of their games. The Spurs continue to quietly win games. Should be a fun game that may be a playoff preview.
