After this season, the Los Angeles Lakers are going to be on the hunt. They’ll have money to spend and it’s likely that they’ll be aiming high – in terms of Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James. The Lakers are going to try to be the Lakers – the biggest and brightest. However, it still remains to be seen if they can in fact follow through with that motto.
The good news is that Kobe Bryant believes that everyone wants to play in Los Angeles. So basically, they can get whomever them want in Lakerland.
Kobe asked about free agency & Melo, quipped: “Everybody wants to play in L.A. … it’s cold as (expletive) out here (in NYC).”

I’m not sure if this really means anything, because, after all, what would you expect Kobe Bryant to say? The truth? That none of the “bigger” names this offseason is likely to choose LA over destinations such as Miami, New York or Chicago?
Maybe in his mind, Kobe already knows who he wants to join him in LA, or perhaps he’s just playing mind games with everyone. Would you be surprised either way?
Still, I’d put some very long odds on the possibility of LeBron James or Carmelo Anthony actually thinking about Los Angeles for their next stop. Both of those players just wouldn’t seem to fit in with Kobe. Then again, we also thought that Dwyane Wade and LeBron on the same team wouldn’t work. They’ve done an awfully good job of proving us wrong.
