If it’s any consolation for New York Knicks fans, La La Anthony, Carmelo’s wife, isn’t buying the narratives that say Melo is leaning on the decision to leave the Knicks. Well, she was right the first time.
Back when Carmelo Anthony was still a Denver Nugget, La La was “instrumental” on his “move” to New York. One could say that she helped him get there (if you’re a conspiracy theorist).
Well, she’s at it again. This time by telling BRAVO her thoughts on her husbands impending free agency and basically hinting that there isn’t a way in which she sees them leaving New York:
“I definitely think he will stay [in New York]. I know that he wants to stay and I support him wherever he wants to go,” La La Anthony said in an interview with Bravo TV’s “Watch What Happens Live.” “Listen, I used to live in Denver with him. If I can live in Denver, I can live anywhere. I just want him to be happy.”
“I get blamed for everything, no matter what happens it’s my fault,” she said. “[There are] all these talks if he’s staying in New York or not [and] I’m somehow the mastermind behind if he stays or not.”
I’m not sure if this is a “report” or not, but at this point what isn’t? In the past week, we’ve had Melo in LA, Chicago and now staying in NY. Buckle up, this is going to be one crazy free agency period — it could rival 2010.
