Recently, everyone has had an opinion on Carmelo Anthony’s impending free agency decision.

As we all know by now, Anthony has the ability to opt-out of his current contract after this season to test free agency. He will definitely opt-out, but the real question is going to be whether or not he re-signs in New York.

LaLa, Melo’s wife, went on record a few days ago saying that she definitely thinks Anthony will re-sign with the Knicks. In response, Tuesday, Anthony said he supported LaLa’s comments and yesterday Knicks coach Mike Woodson echoed his opinion.

“I love it,” Woodson said Wednesday on his regular ESPN New York radio spot about La La’s Anthony’s declaration this week that she believes her husband is “definitely” staying a Knick. “I’m saying the same thing. I think he’s going to stay. I want him to stay. I think New York fans, they need him here.

“These past three years, the way he’s played, has been tremendous. If he ends his career here, I don’t think he’ll ever look back and say ‘If I shoulda or coulda.’… I just think Melo was built for New York. I hope he stays here as well.”

Then again, what else would you expect him to say?

The irony of this all is even if Anthony re-signs in New York, it’ll be unlikely that Woodson will return.
