It sounds like The Machine is finally expected to make his long-awaited return to the NBA. According to reports, the Los Angeles Clippers will sign Sasha Vujacic to a 10-day contract at some point this week – it could be finalized as early as Tuesday.

Vujacic has already taken his physical and will meet the team in Denver for tonight’s game against the Nuggets, but he won’t be active for any games until after the deal is finalized (obviously).

The Clippers aren’t exactly in “need” for guard help – Chris Paul is expected to make his return to the lineup before the All-Star break. But I guess Vujacic’s 37 percent three-point shooting will help a team whose ranking is 21st in the league in that category.

Still, the move comes at a bit of a surprise, even at only a 10-day deal.

Vujacic averaged 5.6 points in seven NBA seasons and last played for the Nets in 2010-11. He won two NBA championships with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2009 and 2010.
