For all those who think that the New York Knicks have no shot of re-signing Carmelo Anthony this summer and think that they should just trade him before the NBA trade deadline just to get something in exchange, apparently the Knicks don’t agree with you.

According to Marc Spears of Yahoo, the New York Knicks are saying that there is “no chance” that Anthony will be traded at or before the trade deadline.

As we all know, Melo has the opportunity to opt-out of his current contract deal in order to pursue free agency, or to re-sign with the Knicks at a much richer deal.

Obviously, New York can offer way more money (around $30 million more) than any other team, but the burning question is which is more important to Melo at this point in his career — money or winning.

If Melo really wants to win, he could take less to sign with a team that is more suited to contend right away rather than to continue to wast his time with the Knicks, but at the end of the day it still may be about money — and that’s something the Knicks can offer.
