The New York Knicks desperately want to exchange Raymond Felton in for a new point guard. And while they can’t seem to get their hands on Rajon Rondo, Kyle Lowry or Jeff Teague (reportedly), the Knicks have now turn their attention to Los Angeles guard Darren Collison.
The Los Angeles Clippers and New York Knicks are discussing a deal centered around guard Iman Shumpert, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
In proposed deals, the Clippers would send the Knicks a package that includes point guard Darren Collison for Shumpert and point guard Raymond Felton, sources told Yahoo Sports.
The Knicks are shopping Shumpert hard, and the Clippers have been receptive to listening on a potential deal, league sources said.
At the moment, things are still reportedly fluid. The deal by no means is close to be completed, but it appears that the Knicks are set on dealing one way or another before tomorrow’s trade deadline.
Clippers coach Doc Rivers has said all along that his rotation is still a work in progress and I’m sure he would love the upgrade of Iman Shumpert to help compensate for the immediate loss of J.J. Redick.
Still, I’m not sure if Collison is the answer for the Knicks. We know that Collison is an elite sixth man in this league, but I’m not sure if he’s a starting point guard. But at least it’s a shakeup if you’re the Knicks, I guess.
