It’s finally about to become official.
After a year of the #tankforWiggins campaign, the time for Andrew Wiggins to finally declare for the 2014 NBA Draft, and to make half the NBA’s dreams one step closer to fruition, has come and is expected to be done later today during his 3 p.m. scheduled press conference.
CBSSports.com and other media reports posted Sunday night that Wiggins would announce his intentions to declare for the NBA Draft on Monday. This came after Kansas announced it would hold a press conference Monday at 3 p.m. ET with Wiggins and KU coach Bill Self.
Wiggins averaged 17.1 points and nearly six rebounds for the Kansas Jayhawks this season. He’s been projected as the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s NBA Draft and is at worst a top-three pick.
But now, it finally begins to get interesting.
With the NBA season nearly over, here is the updated Tanking Rankings:
1. Milwaukee Bucks (14-59)
2. Philadelphia 76ers (16-57)
3. Orlando Magic (21-53)
4. Utah Jazz (23-51)
5. Boston Celtics (23-50)
6. Sacramento Kings (25-48)
7. Los Angeles Lakers (25-48)
8. Detroit Pistons (26-47)
9. Cleveland Cavaliers (30-45)
10. New York Knicks (31-43)
11. Denver Nuggets (32-41)
12. New Orleans Pelicans (32-41)
13. Minnesota Timberwolves (36-36)
14. Memphis Grizzlies (43-40)
However, as we all know, all that matters is the luck of the ping pong…or whoever Adam Silver wants to win the lottery, if you’re in to that whole conspiracy thing.
So who gets him?
