Indiana Pacers: Frank Vogel to test with rest

The Indiana Pacers have treated the NBA season like as a sprint. However, as we’ve seen time and time again, that’s not how to get it done. It’s a marathon.

Despite their hot start, the Pacers are slowly and slowly starting to show some wear and tear on those tires — and their 13-13 post All-Star break record is the prime example.

In response, it appears that Pacers head coach Frank Vogel is finally ready to surrender their pursuit for the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference in order to get his team right, and more importantly fresh. And the beginning of that started Tuesday afternoon, when Vogel gave a few of his players the day off from practice.

Vogel is expected to continue with that thinking tomorrow when his team plays the lowly Bucks.

Rest may not be the only problem with the struggling Pacers, but it can’t hurt the team. And maybe a few days off will help rejuvenate this team once again. After all, playing through their struggles has obviously not done the trick.
