The Los Angeles
Clippers players sent a message to their owner and to the rest of the league just before their huge Game 4 against the Golden State Warriors.
They trotted out for pregame warmups, but instead of getting right to work, the
Clippers hustled out to center court to drop their team warmups, which have the name “ Clippers” on them and warmed up in red shirts instead.
I’m not sure where they go from here but this is definitely a statement, and a strong one. It’s unknown if the Clippers will attempt to play the game without their team name showing, but I wouldn’t put anything past them. I wouldn’t blame them, either.
With the ongoing investigation into the Donald Sterling “tapes” (if that’s what we’re calling it now), he will not be in attendance for today’s Game 4.
However, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver did say that he’d like to act “extraordinarily quickly.” It’s likely that we could see a punishment, or an outline of one, before Tuesday’s Game 5 in Los Angeles.
