I’m not sure how this would exactly work but according to Wall Street Journal reporter Chris Herring Jerry Stackhouse, is telling people that he is expected to meet with New York Knicks President of Basketball Operations Phil Jackson later this week.

Stackhouse last played in the NBA last season with the Brooklyn Nets, and played with eight different teams during his 19-year stint.
It isn’t clear if Stack would be interviewing for an assistant coaching job, or the head coaching job. Though, it appears that Jackson is very high on Steve Kerr so maybe it is for a supporting role under him.
It’s clear who Jackson is targeting to start this new Knicks era. He’s going young and inexperienced.
Or he just wants fresh faces to give this era its own identity. Makes sense.
Hopefully, it ends up paying off for New York. There’s no guarantee that it does, especially when hiring non-experienced coaches. Though, it can be argued that Stackhouse was essentially a coach during his last few stops in the NBA.
