NBA Rumors: Dwight Howard Won't Recruit LeBron or Melo

NBA Rumors

Dwight Howard is apparently taking a page out of Derrick Rose‘s playbook — he won’t recruits other star players this offseason for the Houston Rockets.

“A great man once told me that this is my plane, I fly it where I want to fly it, I’ll land it where I want to land it,” Howard said. “I built it, and it doesn’t matter what anybody else thinks. If I want people on that plane, I’ll put them on there. If not, this is my plane. For ‘Melo and all of these other free agents, this is their plane. This is their time to fly wherever they want to fly. They can’t let anybody or anything get in the way of doing what’s best for them.”

While the Houston Rockets remain heavy favorites to land Carmelo Anthony this summer, per reports, it looks like they’re not going to get any help from Howard.

This is one of those things that I’ll never get. Why wouldn’t you want to help your team get better? Is it a bad look or something? This is just over my head.

Anyways, I really don’t think anyone has to recruit Carmelo Anthony or LeBron James to Houston. The proof is in the pudding. The Rockets have a team that is ready to win now. If they add a Melo or LeBron, and they are probably one of the favorites in the Western Conference.

But, again, it wouldn’t hurt. Dwight has to get on this train. If he wants to win a title, he’s not going to be able to do it alone. And James Harden alone isn’t enough.

I mean, not even a text or phone call, Dwight? C’mon, man.
