NBA Free Agency Roundup: Heat Go To Work

As we continue to make our way to NBA Free Agency decision week, rumors continue to pile in. Some make sense while others, well, are simply thrown to the wall hoping that they’ll stick.

They usually don’t.

Nevertheless, here is the July 6th NBA free agency rundown — filled with plenty of rumors as we continue to await the Carmelo Anthony domino to fall.

Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade still want to be in Miami, regardless of what other reports have suggested.

However, the Heat are — at the moment — waiting on answers from Luol Deng, Trevor Ariza and Pau Gasol.

If those “bigger” names don’t bite, expect the Heat to pursue someone like Kris Humphries — and Marvin Williams, who they’re already recruiting.

Isaiah Thomas could be re-signing with the Sacramento Kings, however, the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat are still lingering.

If the Lakers can’t sign Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James or both, Pau Gasol will likely look to contenders for his next, and potentially final, stop.

And in non-free agency news, the Indiana Pacers are reportedly “quietly” shopping Roy HibbertPer Sporting News.

After a flurry of rumors dating back a little more than a month, there has not been much to speak of when it comes to the possibility of Indiana moving center Roy Hibbert in a trade. But, according to multiple front-office sources, the Pacers have quietly sought out possible new landing spots for their enigmatic big man. “I would say they’ve been doing that, but quietly,” one front-office source said.
