When LeBron James and Pat Riley meet together in the next day or two, it could go one of two ways. LeBron and Riley are going to be on the same page on almost everything, or this is going to be one really awkward meeting. Either way, one thing that we do know is that it’s going to happen — soon.
LeBron James and his agent, Rich Paul, plan on meeting with Miami Heat president Pat Riley in person early this week, according to a person with knowledge of the situation. The person spoke to USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity because of the private nature of the talks.
The worst possible scenario is that LeBron enters that meeting with his decision made. And based on what has happened so far during the NBA Free Agency period, that can’t be good for the Heat. You know, because they haven’t really made any strides in potentially signing any significant free agents to play alongside LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, potentially.
Still, LeBron can enter the room and fall back into love with Pat Riley. Quite frankly, would anyone really be surprised with either outcome?
Settle in, folks. Decision week is upon us.
