Eight days into NBA free agency and suddenly there’s an elephant in the room.
Why hasn’t Carmelo Anthony made a decision yet?
While he’s “struggling with his decision,” something just doesn’t add up. And perhaps there are a few teams that are beginning to catch on to what’s really going on between Anthony and his “choices.”
Popular question raised by last five teams I’ve talked to: Is Melo holding out in hopes Bosh goes to Houston so he can join LeBron in Miami?

It sounds outrageous, but if we honestly think about what has happened leading up to, and early during, this free agency period it kind of doesn’t.
So here are the “facts,” things that we think we know about this whole Carmelo Anthony saga:
- Melo and LeBron James want to play with each other.
- Melo is “considering” LA, NY and Chicago.
- Most believe, including the Knicks, that Melo would have made a decision by Monday (June 7). It hasn’t happened.
- Melo doesn’t want to leave more that $30 million on the table. If he signs with Miami, that probably happens.
That’s pretty much it. So to say that Melo is actually waiting to see if Chris Bosh leaves the Heat in order to take his slot would be going out on a limb. However, there are some arrows that are definitely pointing in that direction if Bosh does take that route.
Per @stephenasmith report on MIA replacing Bosh with Melo, Melo would have to take the pay cut that Bosh isn’t keen on taking at this point

One fact that we can definitely conclude from what has happened during this free agency period is that there’s on “big fish” that is going to domino the rest of the “big fishes.” We just don’t know who the “big fish” is.
But once that free agent, whoever it is, decides where he wants to go, I believe that the rest of the big names will fall shortly after. We just have to figure out who that first domino is first.
