NBA Rumors

As Pat Riley and the Miami Heat continue to try to dress up their roster before today’s reported meeting with LeBron James, word is that the Heat are exploring the idea of trading Mario Chalmers.

According to Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders, the Heat are trying to add more talent to their roster and with limited resources (money-wise), trading Chalmers is the next best thing. Of course, assuming teams are willing to take Chalmers.

While teams have not really showed much interest in the former Jayhawk, the Heat remain hopeful that they would be able to find a sign and trade partner in exchange for another piece to next year’s puzzle — under the assumption that LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh are re-signing with the club.

Chalmers averaged 10 points and five assists last year during the regular season, but only six points and four assists in the playoffs.
