It’s official.

The Chicago Bulls will use its amnesty clause on Carlos Boozer at some point today. Boozer will be placed land on the waiver wire, and if he clears that, will have the freedom to sign with a team of his liking.

However, if a team is willing to put in a claim on Boozer (once he hits the wire later today), teams will need to put in a bid of a minimum of $1.448 million. If multiple teams bid, Boozer will be rewarded to the highest bidder — bids are “blind.”

Boozer will be 33-years-old later this year, and is coming off a season in which he averaged nearly 14 points and eight rebounds per game. In former amnestied news, Mike Miller, who was amnestied by the Miami Heat last year, has agreed to sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers where he will be re-united with former Heat play LeBron James.

Miller, 34, averaged 7.1 pionts and 2.5 rebounds per game last season will the Memphis Grizzlies. He also shot 46 percent from three-point range last season.
