Perhaps this Kevin Love saga is already over. We just haven’t had the closure that an Adrian Wojnarowski can supply us with.
At the current moment, Love to the Cleveland Cavaliers (in exchange for Anthony Bennett, Andrew Wiggins and perhaps a few draft picks) makes too much sense for it not to happen.
It’s going to happen.
But in the crazy, alternate universe in which it doesn’t, will Love be in Cleveland either way in 2015? Perhaps.
According to ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, Love is already committed to signing with the Cavaliers in the 2015 offseason.
From what my sources told me just yesterday, and I don’t know whether this is true or not so I don’t have it locked down, but I’m hearing that Kevin Love is basically telling other teams ‘Don’t bother bringing me long-term because once my contract is up, if I have to serve this last year in Minnesota, I’m going to Cleveland. The man apparently wants to play with LeBron James.”
I mean, who wouldn’t want to play with LeBron James in his prime?
It appears that either way Kevin Love will find a way to Cleveland, whether that be through a trade this offseason or outright during next offseason.
The Cavaliers signed Andrew Wiggins to his rookie contract a few days ago and can’t trade him for 30 days.
Love averaged 26.1 points and 12.5 rebounds per game last season on his 40-42 Minnesota Timberwolves. Love has averaged at least 18 points and 12 rebounds in each of his last four seasons in Minnesota.
