Shortly after the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 102-100 loss to the Utah Jazz Wednesday, LeBron James and Kyrie Irving reportedly “exchanged words” in the locker room.

It ultimately resulted in Irving skipping out on speaking to the media.

"[via LeBron, Irving exchange words — ESPN]LeBron James and Kyrie Irving exchanged words in the Cleveland Cavaliers’ locker room following the team’s 20-point loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday night, and it led to Irving leaving quickly without speaking to the media, multiple sources told ESPN.com.The discussion was seen as healthy, sources said, with the veteran James voicing concerns about the direction of the Cavs’ offense. James scored just 11 points against the Blazers and did not score in the second half and was often not a part of the offense. Cleveland is off to a 1-3 start following a last-second loss to the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night."

After his discussion with Irving, LeBron James told the media that there were “a lot of bad habits” on this Cavaliers team. And that it was going to takes some time for those bad habits to get flushed out.

Perhaps this recent struggle by the Cavs is exactly what LeBron James was referencing in his notorious letter in July. He said that it was going to take time for this team to become a contender. He was right. It is.

It’s been four games and this team looks nothing like one.

It has the ingredients to potentially flourish into one, they just haven’t been exhibiting any traits as of yet.

When everything is going bad, it stays bad and often turns ugly. That’s exactly what happened after the Cavs’ loss to the Jazz. But this is nothing to new with LeBron James.

He went through the same things he’s going through in Cleveland, as he had to get through during his first 20, or so, games in a Miami Heat uniform in 2010.

The struggle was there. Although, it eventually faded, as the team became more and more cohesive. The same thing will happen with the Cleveland Cavaliers this time around.

It’s just going to take time. And, probably, a few head-clashing arguments here and there.
