In our latest NBA MVP Rankings edition, we take a closer look at the resurgence of Paul George

When the Indiana Pacers originally announced that they wanted Paul George to play more of the power forward position this season, it did not go over well with George. A couple weeks into the season, even though George and the new-look Pacers are still feeling each other out, and it’s safe to say that the experiment has worked.

Especially in the team’s last seven games. During that span, George is averaging 29 points, nine rebounds and four assists on 47 percent shooting from the field and 51 percent shooting from three-point range. Predictably, the Pacers are 5-2 during that span with their only losses coming against the Cleveland Cavaliers and Chicago Bulls.

No only has the move to power forward been beneficial to the team, but it’s also been highly helpful for George, who is well on his way towards having the best season of his career in overall scoring, three-point shooting, rebounding and assists.

It’s also helped put him in the conversation as a potential NBA MVP candidate. If the Pacers can continue to improve, and continue to beat the teams they’re supposed to and steal a few wins here and there, George might produce enough to get some serious consideration for the award.

He jumps into our MVP rankings this week. Here’s the complete top 10.
