NBA Trade Rumors: Now that Dwight Howard is being shopped by the Houston Rockets, here are five teams that should take a chance on trading for Superman

After a rough start to the season and failure to right the ship (no pun intended) by the NBA All-Star break, it appears that the Houston Rockets (27-28) will attempt to trade Dwight Howard.

As was reported by Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Rockets have reportedly begun calling teams in an attempt to put together a deal for Howard ahead of next week’s NBA Trade Deadline.

Even though this is the move that the Rockets have decided to go with, it’s not indicative on what Dwight Howard has or hasn’t done this season. The Rockets’ issues go beyond what one single player can do in any single game. This team just doesn’t have the same magic and cohesiveness that they carried to a Western Conference Finals run a year ago.

Thus, something must change. And considering that James Harden isn’t going to be moved, because he’s still on contract, Dwight became the odd man out.

Plus, it doesn’t hurt that he’s expected to opt out of the final year of his contract and test free agency this summer.

Despite that logic, it still figures to be difficult awfully difficult to find a team that would be willing to trade assets for an essential half-season rental of Dwight’s services.

Nevertheless, here are five teams that should at the very least entertain the idea of a potential trade for Dwight Howard.
