In this week’s NBA Playoff Power Rankings edition, we look at the teams that impressed in the opening week of the postseason

I know that the Golden State Warriors are fresh off setting the record for most wins in a regular season, with 73. I know that the San Antonio Spurs just polished off their best regular season in franchise history, one that has won five NBA Championships.

I know that LeBron James, along with a healthy Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love, is probably on his way to a 6th straight NBA Finals appearance.

But should we really be sleeping on Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder?

If not, they definitely sent a message to the rest of the NBA in their 38-point shellacking of the Dallas Mavericks. Albeit, it was against a team that is injured and a shell of a deserving playoff team, but it was still impressive nonetheless.

A team with the amount of talent that the Oklahoma City Thunder posses shouldn’t be overlooked regardless of what the Warriors or Spurs are doing in the Western Conference. If Durant and Westbrook get hot for a week, they are the types of talents that can win a playoff series for a team.

With that said, the Thunder are probably going to have to prove it for many to believe it. And we’re about a week and half away from that coming into play.

In the meantime, here are this week’s NBA Playoff Power Rankings.
