The Chicago Bulls are in a race to make the playoffs. Currently they are tied for 8th in the Eastern Conference with the Heat and only one team will make it.

With a 40-41 record, the Chicago Bulls are tied with the Miami Heat for the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference. For the time being, Chicago holds the tiebreaker, but they’ll need a win on the final night of the regular season in order to officially punch their ticket to the postseason.

After losing to the lowly Brooklyn Nets over the weekend, the Bulls bounced back with a huge 47-point win over the Orlando Magic (Monday) in order to setup a win or go home scenario Wednesday night.

Ironically, Chicago faces the Nets on the final night of the regular season. Not only will the Bulls have a chance to avenge their loss from over the weekend, but they’ll also be able to clinch a playoff spot at the same time.

More from Sir Charles In Charge

Just a few weeks ago, the Chicago Bulls were an afterthought concerning the final few playoff spots in the East. At the time, the Miami Heat were red-hot, the Milwaukee Bucks were getting healthy and the Indiana Pacers, while inconsistent, still had their moments.

Yet, with two days remaining in the regular season, the Bulls have a great shot at making the playoffs.

The biggest turnaround in Chicago’s play could be attributed to all the new pieces beginning to click. During the offseason, the Bulls signed Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo, two faces that didn’t exactly make an easy transition.

Add in the move of Jimmy Butler to small forward, and there was practically a brand new starting five in Chicago this season.

Speaking of Butler, there has been many reports of him leaving some going as far as calling him ” good as gone.” If the Bulls want to keep Jimmy, they must make the playoffs and show the world that the are better than they thought.

If they do make the playoffs, simply being competitive against the Cleveland Cavaliers or Boston Celtics will also go a long way in making the case for Jimmy.
