One hundred points in a single game, and in 2012?

Impossible!

That is until a kid playing at a small, Division 3 College in Grinnell, Iowa decided to go for it.

On November 20th, the Grinnell College Pioneers had a home exhibition game against Faith Baptist Bible College. It was a normal Division 3 game, to everyone but Jack Taylor.

Of all of the improbable stories, his is one to remember.

Jack Taylor is a 5’10” guard out of Black River Falls, Wisconsin.

In fact, this is Taylor’s first year of playing varsity basketball at Grinnell College, and coming into this season, he didn’t expect a lot of playing time.

During his first game of the season, Taylor received only 11 minutes of playing time, and during his second game, only 16 minutes of playing time.

Despite playing very little, Taylor made great use of his minutes

In only 36 minutes, Taylor scored 138 points. He was 52 for 108 from the field, and 27 for 71 from the three point line in his record shattering performance.

Grinnell College plays William Penn University on November 25, at Darby Gymnasium. A challenging game, seeing that William Penn is undefeated in their first 9 games of play.

Grinnell does have a secret weapon though.

A 5’10″ inch guard who averages 61 points per game.

Unbelievable.
