All You Need Is (Kevin) Love

AUTHOR: | IN: NBA, What The Chuck? | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

The Minnesota Timberwolves’  GM, David Kahn made a mistake by not signing Kevin Love to a max deal. End of story. Well, not really end of story. I’ll tell you why: Kevin Love is a franchise and top-10 player by most metrics. He’s a big who hits three-pointers at a 40% clip. He is heralded for starting fast breaks with his pin-point outlet passing and from everything that is written about him, he is a stand-up guy in the locker room and with the media. At 6’10” he is more of a Power Forward but can play Center when the Wolves [...]

Donald Sterling Is The Luckiest Man Alive

AUTHOR: | IN: NBA, Uncontested Shots | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

If you truly believe in the old adage that it’s better to be lucky than good then you should probably stop reading this right now. If you’re also a believer in that good things happen to good people then you really should just close whatever tab this is on and go on with your day. I’m embarrassed to admit how much time I’ve spent over the past month wondering how in the world one of the world’s most despicable human beings lucked into one of the greatest chains of events imaginable. I’m talking about Donald T. Sterling – the admitted [...]

Can Danny Granger win in Indiana?

AUTHOR: | IN: NBA | COMMENTS: None Yet

Last week, I wrote an article about middle of the road players, guys who just aren’t winning players, regardless of the numbers they put up. Players like Andre Igoudala, Monta Ellis and Al Jefferson are legitimate top 30 talents, yet can never win, nor even push a team to the second round. Looking over at this list, we might have forgotten one of the best “middle of the road all stars”. Danny Granger, forward for the Indiana Pacers, is one of those guys. In Granger’s six seasons, the Pacers went to the playoffs just twice, losing in the first round [...]

NBA Lockout

AUTHOR: | IN: NBA | COMMENTS: None Yet

In case you didn’t check out NBA.com, this is real. The 2011-2012 NBA season has be temporarily been cancelled, due to a lockout. The NBA owners, and NBA players association are currently debating over money and other rules and regulations concerning the NBA players. The biggest thing, there’s a split in revenue. The owners want a 57/43 spilt in revenue, while the NBA players want a 54/46 revenue split. Former Portland Trail Blazers front office member Tom Penn said on ESPN’s PTI yesterday that the chances of a loss NBA season is “75 percent” I’m on the fence with [...]

Middle Of The Road

AUTHOR: | IN: NBA | COMMENTS: None Yet

During the NBA Draft, former Knicks head coach Jeff Van Gundy said the smartest, yet simplest thing ever. ” You want to either be really good, or really bad. You never want to be the middle in the NBA.” I agreed and disagreed at the same time. On one hand, 45 wins for 10 seasons and no title appearances could get boring for a fan base and it will always cause coaches being fired, and players being moved around. However, since 1980, only 11 teams won a NBA title. 11 teams split 31 titles? Sometimes, those 40-50 win seasons [...]

NBA Draft Grades Picks 1-15

AUTHOR: | IN: Draft, NBA, Offseason | COMMENTS: None Yet

You know people give teams grades and count second round picks? Instead of giving out grades to teams, I figured, why not just give each 1st round pick it’s own grade? It allows us to touch upon the picks in a volume, I don’t want to talk about Malcolm Lee at 43 to Minnesota, or Jeremy Tyler at 39 to Charlotte because I don’t know if those guys truly matter in the grand scheme of the team yet. First round picks? They matter, so here’s the first fifteen picks in the NBA draft and their draft grades.
