According to numerous reports, the Oklahoma City Thunder have traded reserve point guard Eric Maynor to the Portland Trail Blazers.

Thunder has traded reserve point guard Eric Maynor to Blazers, a source told Y! Sports.

In return, the Thunder will receive a $2.2 million dollar trade exception and (potentially) some future draft picks.

Through 37 games, Maynor is averaging just 2.8 points and 2.0 assists. He had fallen out of the rotation in favor of Reggie Jackson.

Eric is set to become a restricted free-agent this summer.

UPDATE: The Blazers will also send the draft rights of Giorgio Printezis to the Thunder.

Blazers will send the draft rights of Giorgio Printezis to the Thunder as part of the Eric Maynor deal, source tells Y!

— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) February 21, 2013

GRADE THE TRADE (PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS): A

This deal won’t make the Blazers title contenders or anything, but it will provide some quality depth for rookie point guard Damian Lillard, who’s previous backups were Ronnie Price (2.7 points, 1.9 assists) and Nolan Smith (3.0 points, 1.8 assists).

He’s only 25 years old, so the potential is there (22.7 points as a senior in college) for him to get healthy and become a solid second-unit guard in the NBA.

Considering how awful Portland’s bench is (16.7 points, last in the NBA), Maynor should be able to step in right away and get a steady increase in minutes compared to what he was getting in Oklahoma City.

GRADE THE TRADE (OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER): C +

After coming off of major knee surgery and watching his shooting numbers slowly decline (31.8% from the field), OKC believed it to be the right time to cut ties with Eric.

Walking away with a trade exception is a decent haul for a third-string point guard, but I would have liked to see the Thunder hold on to Maynor a little while longer. He has a lot of upside, and with the proper playing-time, he could very well thrive in Portland.

Now three days into the summer league and the Pacers remain undefeated at 3-0 while the Netsers haven’t gotten their first win yet and are still 0-3. I have to admit I didn’t get to see much of Day 3′s games, I only saw little pieces of each game so most of my judgments are going to be off the boxscores, which I know doesn’t always tell the full story, but we’ll see how we do.

Winners

Hansbrough is doing a good job proving the doubters wrong thus far.

Indiana’s Twin Towers – The Pacers combination of Tyler Hansbrough and Roy Hibbert were absolutely dominant against the Jazz. Now you do have to consider who they were playing, Larry Turner and Goran Suton, but even still you can’t knock their performance. They combined for 45 points and 13 rebounds.

Russell Westbrook – I could have put Westbrook in the winners column after each game because he’s played good in each game. He’s getting the nod today not just for his scoring though, but also for his all around play. Besides the 26 points, he got to the free throw line 8 times, had 4 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals.

Richard Hendrix – Former NBDL All-Star is doing his best to turn GM’s heads. On Day 3 he was good for 17 points and 12 rebounds on 6 of 9 shooting. A lot of teams can use that production from their power forward.

Losers

Eric Maynor – A day after making the winner’s list, Maynor finds his way to the dark side. In 25 minutes, Maynor was 2 of 9 from the floor with only 5 points and only handed out 3 assists. The Jazz’s summer league squad simply needs more production from him.

Robert Swift – One of the games I actually got to see most of and Swift is a fumbling clumsy center. During one stretch, three straight possessions Swift either fumbled the ball or had it stripped from him when he was in a position to score.

Chris Douglas-Roberts – Following CDR’s 5 points and 1 shot in 28 mintes of play, CDR tweeted this himself: Wow is all I can say. Me too.
