Selected: Round 1, Pick 21

Honorable Mention: Dwight Powell, Alec Brown, Patric Young

It seems just about every summer the Thunder capitalize on the draft, and this year was no different with the selection of Michigan big man Mitch McGary.

The 6-10 bruiser has a unique set of offensive skills for a player of his size, ranging from his mobility, to his adept passing, as well as his solid ball handling ability, which makes him a tough cover for any opponent.

Currently, the Thunder already have a clutter of players all throughout their frontcourt, however, McGary has a chance to get some playing time if he’s able to beat out Nick Collison for the backup power forward spot.

And, although, he may not post great numbers in his first season, his defensive prowess and offensive versatility alone should still create a major spark off the bench and help him earn a better role down the line.
