Prediction: Over
Will this finally be the year the Pelicans make the playoffs?
Well, that depends on a few things.
First and foremost, Anthony Davis and new center Omer Asik must co-exist in the frontcourt. This duo has the potential to be a defensive wrecking ball, however, until we see them in action together, it remains to be seen how good they’ll actually be.
Second, Eric Gordon and Jrue Holiday have to get back to playing at an elite level again.
Both players are coming off down years in which they struggled to remain effective, so it’s vital we see some kind of resurgence in their game, if the team wants any chance at remaining fairly competitive.
Other than that, luck may be the only thing that can propel this team to a postseason berth, since the West is stacked with a plethora of talented teams and only eight spots to go around.
