Rajon Rondo won’t be traded this season

This was pretty clear on NBA draft night, when the Boston Celtics selected Marcus Smart with their No. 1 pick in the draft. They selected Rajon Rondo’s replacement before the season even began.

Rondo is going to get traded. It’s only a matter of when, not if.

The Celtics will hold an unofficial auction for Rondo’s services. The highest bidder will get Rondo close to, if not on, the NBA’s trade deadline.
