The Golden Boys of The West
Practically every shred of NBA preseason hype surrounded the Cavaliers, which meant by the time October rolled around there were very few people to jump on a bandwagon other than the one heading to Cleveland. The Golden State Warriors though, have won 88 percent of their games, and their 22-4 record sits them well and truly atop the NBA power rankings.
Steve Kerr has not only allowed this defense to move the ball as well as ever, and utilize every weapon they have on the floor (shown by Draymond Green‘s breakout year and the resurgence of Marreese Speights), but he’s even got their defense playing as the best in the league, surrendering the fewest points out of any team so far this year.
With Stephen Curry leading his team to a historic start after a franchise best 16 game win streak, and being well on his way to taking home the MVP award (if nothing else, he’s definitely the favorite at the moment), the Warriors still stand strong as the top contender to take home the Larry O’Brien trophy this season.
