Boston Celtics

Current Record: (13-23)

(End of Week) Predicted Record: (12-26)

If we’ve learned anything in the past couple of weeks, it’s that the Boston Celtics are in full-on rebuild mode. With Jeff Green on his way to the Memphis Grizzlies, there’s no reason to assume several other players on the C’s roster won’t be on their way out of the organization as well.

Impending trades and much uncertainty about the shape of the roster at the moment will likely see the Celtics dropping more games than they’ll win this week. Although, the Celtics managed to steal a game at home against the New Orleans Pelicans to open the week last night.

The Celtics thus far boast a deceptive record, as all but three of their wins have come with Rajon Rondo leading the charge. Boston’s next two games this week will also come at TD Gardens as the Atlanta Hawks (29-8) and the Chicago Bulls (26-12) roll into town for games Wednesday and Friday. Both teams currently rank in the upper-echilon of the Eastern Conference, and as a result the Celtics will certainly struggle in those two games.

Player to Watch: As it currently stands, with Jeff Green in and out of the lineup as he prepares to move to a new team, Jae Crowder stands as his replacement. The spike in minutes he’ll undoubtably receive as a result, should be beneficial to him as he tries to cement himself as a viable starter going forward. His per 36 minutes stats show the potential for solid offensive production if this minutes increase does in fact come to fruition. In a situation like this, look for him to be aggressive on both ends of the floor.
