No Clear-Cut Western Conference Threat
The Golden State Warriors? The Memphis Grizzlies? The San Antonio Spurs?
Is there really a clear-cut favorite — other than the Cleveland Cavaliers — to make and win the NBA Finals this season? I mean, if you look up the numbers and odds, the Warriors are technically the favorites to come out of the Western Conference, but are they really the “favorites?”
Would we really be surprised to see the Spurs, Grizzlies or Thunder come out of the West? No.
Which says two things.
One, that the Western Conference is very competitive and teams will beat up each other in the playoffs, and that there’s no one player in the Western Conference that has the amount of impact on a team, and a game, that LeBron James possess on the Cavs.
No matter who the Cleveland Cavaliers face off in the playoffs, or Finals, they are going to be favored thanks to one person. LeBron James.
And at the end of the day, it may be the only thing that really matters.
