Power Forwards
1. LaMarcus Aldridge
2014-15 Stats: 23.3 points, 10.5 rebounds
He’s the best big man in the league. Tim Duncan and KG are of the past, LaMarcus Aldridge and Anthony Davis are of the present and future. He’s a future NBA MVP and a future champion; it’s hard to picture this man not raising a trophy at least once.
What he does offensively and defensively cannot be overlooked, because he’s in his prime. He’ll be 30 in July, but age means nothing when you produce like he does.
2. Anthony Davis
2014-15 Stats: 24.7 points, 10.4 rebounds, 2.9 blocks
The man has heart. He has a will to win. Anthony Davis is the reason why the Pelicans are making the playoffs this year.
What he does on the court is very Kevin Garnett-like. What he has that Garnett didn’t have in the beginning of his career, though, is a supporting cast. AD has accepted the leadership role at age 22, and is doing so effortlessly. Golden State needs to watch out for the Pelicans.
3. Pau Gasol
2014-15 Stats: 18.4 points, 12.0 rebounds
Age is nothing but a number. The Lakers disrespected Pau Gasol by offering him a two-year, $20 million contract. Especially when they gave Jordan Hill a two-year, $18 million contract. Gasol rejuvenated this Chicago franchise into a championship contender.
Those who thought he could no longer play were foolish to believe so. Averaging 18 points and 12 rebounds at the age of 34 is quite amazing. He almost makes it as easy as stealing candy from a baby when he’s in the post.
