Centers
1. Marc Gasol
2014-15 Stats: 17.9 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.7 blocks
The MVP of the Memphis Grizzlies, Marc Gasol gives you everything. His offense is similar to a Vlade Divac, where he can pass and score from the inside and out.
His defense, though, is what sets him apart. The “grit n grind” style of play is what’s going to get Memphis the No. 2 seed in the West, and it’s also what will make them the best Western Conference team come playoff time.
2. Al Horford
2014-15 Stats: 15.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.3 blocks
As the best player in Atlanta, Horford has brought this team to the top of the East. What he does on a nightly basis still gets swept under the rug. And the fact he’s really a power forward is mind-boggling.
Imagine having Al Horford at the 4 and having a Robin Lopez-type player do all the dirty work at the 5? That’s when Atlanta will actually be a playoff threat.
3. Demarcus Cousins
2014-15 Stats: 23.7 points, 12.3 rebounds, 1.6 blocks
Most see him as having a poor attitude. I see DeMarcus Cousins as a player that badly wants to win. Like I mentioned earlier, it’s tough for the Kings to win when they’ve had eight different coaches since 2006.
That’s too many different styles for any team to be successful. Stats mean nothing, but Cousins has outrageous numbers. He has the tools to carry a team, he just needs a steady coach by his side. Watch out for the Kings next year.
