The Cavs will need Kevin Love — and he’ll fail
At some point in this playoff run, because it never fails, the Cleveland Cavaliers will get to a point where they’re going to need their third star to step up.
LeBron James and Kyrie Irving are going to do their thing and it’s worked for the most part in the regular season, but it won’t be enough in the playoffs. Not even in the Eastern Conference.
At some point during their run, they’re going to need Kevin Love to step up and contribute will some big rebounds, defense or timely offense. He won’t deliver.
Love has looked awkward in Cleveland’s offense all year long — often looking pedestrian while standing at the three-point line, waiting for someone to toss him the ball — and I don’t think that’s suddenly going to change at the flip of a playoff switch.
