2015 NBA Draft: Top 10 Prospects With The Most Bust Potential
Apr 6, 2015; Indianapolis, IN, USA; Wisconsin Badgers forward Sam Dekker (15) shoots during the first half against the Duke Blue Devils in the 2015 NCAA Men
Sam Dekker
School: Wisconsin
Position: SF
Size: 6-9, 230 lbs
Projection: Top-15
The one thing we learned about Sam Dekker in the NCAA Tournament is that he’s really good at hitting the big shot. Despite his bad showing in the NCAA Title game, Dekker had various moments along the way that could lead to promise in the NBA.
Thing is, Dekker is a good athlete but he isn’t an elite one. And when he’s playing a position in the NBA that is littered with elite athletes, that could be a problem. Dekker improved his shooting percentage every year at Wisconsin and if he can continue to do that into the NBA, he can help compensate for his lack of elite-level athleticism with that aspect of his game.
Dekker is an intriguing prospect, but he’s also one that will require a franchise rolling the dice.
