Potential Landing Spots: Golden State Warriors, Detroit Pistons, Houston Rockets 

The NBA Finals turned around in part because of Draymond Green breaking out of a funk in Game 4. He was invaluable to that team, regardless of what the box scores indicated. His impact goes beyond numbers on paper. He gives the Warriors flexibility and a defensive swagger that not many other players in the NBA could provide.

The great thing about free agency though, is that “invaluable” label that we just threw out needs to be materialized into a number — a figure. And if that equates to a max contract, it’s going to be a max contract. The Warriors can’t afford to let Green leave in free agency. And he won’t.
