Doc Rivers reunited himself with his old Celtics buddy Paul Pierce this offseason and it should prove to be a good move from both sides.
This move keeps Pierce in the hunt for one last ring (if you still believe they’re contenders sans DeAndre Jordan), and it provides the Clippers with a player that can take the game over in the 4th quarter (even call “game” as he makes a game winner in fact) and provide consistent scoring should Chris Paul be off his game or Blake Griffin gets hurt again — or even simply off the bench.
Will this help the Clippers actually get to the Conference Finals? Who knows. But does this move help their chances way more than hurt? You betcha.
